Market view

The UAE is the most competitive digital market in the region.

Almost every category in the UAE is crowded, and customers compare quickly. That raises the standard on two things in particular: speed and checkout. A store that loads slowly on a phone or asks for six fields before showing a total loses to a competitor who does not. Design matters, but the measurable difference usually comes from performance and from how few steps stand between interest and payment.

The payment mix is also distinctive. Cards are well established, Apple Pay is widely used, and buy-now-pay-later through Tabby and Tamara has become a normal expectation in retail. Cash on delivery still appears in some categories. VAT at five per cent has to be handled correctly in display prices and invoices. Each of these is a decision to make deliberately rather than inherit from a default checkout.

Bilingual delivery is the third piece. English carries most business traffic, but Arabic widens consumer reach and is expected by parts of the market. We build both as designed views with their own URLs and metadata, which also means each language can rank on its own terms rather than competing with itself.

Local detail

UAE specifics we plan for.

Buy now, pay later is expected
Tabby and Tamara materially affect conversion in UAE retail. We integrate them properly, including the messaging on product pages that makes them work.
VAT at five per cent
Display prices, invoices and tax reporting set up correctly from launch, including the difference between B2C tax-inclusive and B2B tax-exclusive presentation.
Monday to Friday week
The UAE working week differs from the rest of the Gulf. We plan reviews, launches and support windows around it.
Free zone and mainland entities
Your licence type affects which gateways will approve you and what you can sell. We check that before scoping the checkout.
A market of nationalities
Your audience may read English, Arabic, Hindi or Russian. We structure content so additional languages can be added without rebuilding.
Delivery expectations
Same-day and next-day delivery are normal. Shipping rules, cut-off times and tracking are built to match what your courier can actually do.
What it costs

What changes the price.

Languages
One language or two
A designed Arabic view is additional design and build work. We price it as its own line so you can decide.
Commerce
Payment routes and BNPL
Each route added, from Apple Pay to Tabby to cash on delivery, adds integration and testing time.
Integrations
ERP, POS, logistics
Connecting to accounting, warehouse or courier systems is scoped separately from the storefront build.
Questions

Websites for the UAE: common questions

Can you build for a Dubai company from Lebanon?

Yes, and much of our work is exactly that. Projects run remotely on Gulf hours with a one-hour time difference at most, in Arabic or English, and we quote fixed so distance does not create billing uncertainty.

Can you integrate Tabby or Tamara?

Yes. Both are standard in UAE retail and we integrate them on Shopify and WooCommerce, including the product-page messaging that makes buy-now-pay-later actually lift conversion.

How is VAT handled?

We configure tax-inclusive display for consumers, correct invoice output, and reporting your accountant can use. If you sell both B2C and B2B, we set up the different presentations each needs.

Should the site be hosted in the UAE?

Usually not necessary: a CDN with a regional edge gives local speed from anywhere. If a client contract or regulator requires data residency in the Emirates, we can host there.

Do I need Arabic to rank in the UAE?

English alone can work for B2B and expat-facing categories. For consumer retail and government-adjacent work, Arabic broadens reach considerably. We build it as a proper second version with its own SEO.

Can you migrate an existing store?

Yes, including products, customers, orders and URLs, with redirects so existing rankings and paid traffic keep working after the move.
